eu

This summer it will be cheaper to make calls and send SMS from abroad.

from the 1July,  mobile operators in EU and EEA countries to lower prices on their mobile abroad service more.

The maximum price for the minute to call from abroad will be approximately 40p. Calling some of you while you are abroad, you should not have to pay more than the approximately 70p.

Cheaper SMS

The highest permitted price of SMS will be reduced from 29 to 11 euro cents

EU Parliament is not particularly happy with the price of data when surfing abroad. You have also chosen not to put anything pristak for consumers, but rather required the operators to not take more than 92p of each other per MB that are generated in networks. So it is up to each operator how much they will add the cost for customers.

We present 20 of the most ridiculous complaints made by holidaymakers to their travel agent, taken from research by Thomas Cook and ABTA.

“Topless sunbathing on the beach should be banned. The holiday was ruined as my husband spent all day looking at other women.”

A tourist at a top African game lodge overlooking a waterhole, who spotted a visibly aroused elephant, complained that the sight of this rampant beast ruined his honeymoon by making him feel “inadequate

A woman threatened to call police after claiming that she’d been locked in by staff. When in fact, she had mistaken the “do not disturb” sign on the back of the door as a warning to remain in the room.

“The beach was too sandy.”

A guest at a Novotel in Australia complained his soup was too thick and strong. He was inadvertently slurping the gravy at the time.

“We bought ‘Ray-Ban’ sunglasses for five euros (£3.50) from a street trader, only to find out they were fake.”

“No-one told us there would be fish in the sea. The children were startled.”

“It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England it only took the Americans three hours to get home.”

“My fiancé and I booked a twin-bedded room but we were placed in a double-bedded room. We now hold you responsible for the fact that I find myself pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”

“I compared the size of our one-bedroom apartment to our friends’ three-bedroom apartment and ours was significantly smaller.”

“The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the accommodation’. We’re trainee hairdressers – will we be OK staying here?”

“There are too many Spanish people. The receptionist speaks Spanish. The food is Spanish. Too many foreigners.”

“We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as yellow but it was white.”

“We had to queue outside with no air conditioning.”

“It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel.”

“I was bitten by a mosquito – no-one said they could bite.”

“I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”

“It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’ time – this should be banned.”

“On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food at all.”

“We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our swimming costumes and towels.”

applebthead

According to the Apple Store, the company’s $100 Bluetooth headset has been discontinued. Does this mean Apple’s planning on rolling out new stereo-enabled Bluetooth headsets with A2DP compatibility for iPhone 3.0 and iPod Touch?

It’s not a product that we’d really kept tabs on, refreshing its store page every 10 minutes to note whether or not it was still for sale. But according to the MacRumors forums, Apple pulled the plug late last week. I actually don’t know of a single person who used the headset (which is probably a testament to its quality or lack thereof), so this discontinuation is probably not the greatest loss to humanity.

The global economy is imploding. It’s so bad that even economic powerhouse Nintendo has revised its forecasts. Everyone is bleeding money. Everyone except Majesco.

Majesco? Yes, Majesco. You know, the game publisher who brought you Cooking Mama, Cake Mania and some fitness game with Jillian Michaels (pictured). For the quarter ending January 31, 2009, Majesco’s net revenues jumped up 75.8 percent and net income increased 54 percent.

“Our success was driven by strong demand across our product line, specifically for our Cooking Mama titles and the newly released Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009, which has become a hit with approximately 500,000 copies sold to date,” said company CEO Jesse Sutton. “We are well positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for family friendly mass market games, the fastest growing segment of the industry, which in part is being driven by the success of Nintendo’s platforms.”

Later this year, Majesco will publish Gardening Mama and Major Minor’s Majestic March. Oh, it will also make money.

“Advance preview of what we’re building.” This is, what Apple says about their next big event. Apple is going to present the next big step towards the “perfect iPhone” – iPhone OS 3.0 – on tuesday, March 17, 2009. There is no detailed information about the event yet and we don’t expect a release of 3.0, but maybe Apple is going to show the world something really big. Maybe they show us Copy & Paste, video recording, multitasking or something completely different. And what about Steve Jobs? Maybe this event will be his big comeback!!! We don’t really know, what is going to happen, but we know, that this is going to be a huge thing, so mark this date in your calendar and follow one of the livetickers around the web!

Boom: Apple netbook in Q3 — that’s the rumor being spread by the Commercial Times / DigiTimes tag-team of electronics tattlers. Apparently, Wintek will supply the touch-panels to Quanta computer who’ll be tasked with assembling Apple’s netbook. Take this one with a grain of salt though — while these two Taiwan-based magazines tend to be accurate with insider info related to Taiwan-based companies like Acer and ASUS, they can often be wide of the mark with rumors related to foreign companies. Unless of course we missed the launch of the Blu-ray Xbox 360 and G5 PowerBooks.

After today’s $1.40 airplane lavatory charge, the disco girl with the long legs and the lovely smile has sent us proof that Ryanair is going way too far in their demands to passengers.

This is of course fake

Telenor announced today via a press release that the company will begin selling iPhone in Sweden, Norway and Denmark in ruling next few months

There were no specific details in the press release directly. Well, it was in the press release:

More information is published at a later date.

So far, there is no information on subscription prices or exact delivery time.

But it is an undeniably good news because it becomes a larger subscription option for iPhone owners, and probably more attractive offers and lower prices.
